Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Mhp)

Mycoplasma hyopneumonaie is one of the smallest bacteria found in nature. Mhp is transferred from pig to pig via nose-to-nose or aerosol contact. It can cause porcine enzootic pneumonia in pigs, and is considered one of the most prevalent diseases affecting swine production today, with an economic impact estimated between $200 million and $1 billion each year.
