Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2)

Porcine circovirus Type 2 virus (PCV2) is one of the most devastating and economically damaging viruses that affect swine production. This virus impairs the immune system and leaves pigs susceptible to other swine diseases, including pneumonia, enteritis, respiratory disease and porcine dermatitis, just to name a few. Clinical signs can mimic many diseases, which means an accurate diagnosis is critical for appropriate control measures.
